Abstract
The experimentally observed normal state thermodynamic and transport properties of cuprate superconductors are universally
quite unusual and so far unexplained. Some of these will be reviewed and the challenges for an overall theoretical picture
will be discussed. It will be described how, in some cases, the Marginal Fermi Liquid hypothesis may be applied.
