Long-range correlated percolation and flow and transport in heterogeneous porous media

Abstract
We introduce a percolation model with long-range correlations, and investigate its scaling
properties. Using this model, we provide a theoretical explanation for experimental data for
hydrodynamic dispersion in heterogeneous rock formations and aquifers that had remained
unexplained for a long time.
