Abstract
The proof is given that in a symmetric double well model of symmetric H-bond with damped stretching mode, there is no asymptotic-time
symmetry breaking owing to a full initial asymmetry of the proton localization. So, in a correspondence with the ergodic hypothesis,
the final proton distribution deduced from the kinetic treatment is the same in both wells as predicted by the equilibrium
statistical mechanics.
