Abstract
A review of recent experimental results obtained on the inorganic spin-Peierls compound CuGeO 3 is proposed. As the spin-Peierls phenomenon results from the interplay between lattice and magnetic (quantum) fluctuations, the presentation focuses on the different dynamical aspects of the problem. with CuGeO 3, many points have been clarified and new results acquired. However, it remains open questions which, due to the high quality of the available crystals, can be expected to be solved in the future.
